Registration Policy
Prior to the opening of player registration, the Treasurer will create a program budget that will be approved by the Board of Directors. This budget will factor in variable costs per each age level and fixed association costs divided equally among all levels to set the registration fee and fundraising standards for each team.
For the spring/summer season, the Association will field teams at the 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U level. For the fall season, the Association will field teams at the 10U, 12U, and 14U level. The Board reserves the right to add or subtract levels at its discretion. The minimum and maximum players for each spring/summer team are as follows:
- 6U: at the discretion of the Board
- 8U: minimum 10, maximum 18
- 10U: minimum 12, maximum 18
- 12U: minimum 18, maximum 22
- 14U: minimum 18, maximum 22
For the fall 6v6 season, the minimum players for each team will be 11 and the maximum will be 14.
Registration will be open to players both in and out of St. Louis Park, provided that either a) no organized lacrosse program offered in the players' area or b) the player receives a waiver from their home organization. Registration is open on a first-come, first-serve basis until the minimum number of players is reached on a team. Once the minimum number of players is reached, the final spots will be prioritized in the following order:
1) Residents of St. Louis Park or Hopkins;
2) Players that have played with St. Louis Park in a previous year; and
3) All others.
When the maximum number of players is reached on a team, all other player registrations on that team will be waitlisted until either (a) the minimum number of players for an additional team is reached or (b) player registration closes.
- If the minimum number of players for an additional team is reached, all waitlisted players will be invited to register and complete payment, and will have 24 hours to do so.
- If the minimum number of players for an additional team is not reached by the time player registration is closed, player registration for that team will remain open as long as possible to achieve the minimum number of players, up to the date that teams must be registered with the appropriate league.
If team registration is closed and the budgeted number of teams (or more) have been registered with the league, but the maximum number of players per team have not been registered, additional player registrations will be accepted.
If team registration is closed and the maximum number of players per team have been registered, no additional players will be registered.
The Board reserves the right to make exceptions to this policy in its sole discretion.
